Hello, I'm Harsha Kulkarni a Licensed Marriage Family Therapist practicing Holistic Psychotherapy in Encinitas, North County San Diego. I appreciate you taking the time to get to know me.
I am deeply passionate about my work. It is an honor and a privilege to be a partner in my clients' journeys toward a deep inner healing.
Having studied Engineering as an undergraduate and completing graduate studies in Computer Science, I have been fortunate to work for a world leader in wireless communications and author software that is used globally. While it was mentally rewarding to break new technological ground with state-of-the-art work, the state of my heart was rather empty and unfulfilled. Painfully, I had to come face-to-face with what makes me feel fully alive and truly happy. It turned out to be something that I have always enjoyed but had overlooked – helping others recognize their own strengths; helping them feel good about themselves; listening with my heart to someone's pain and sorrow. A clear realization dawned that my work needs to be a holistic synthesis of my head and my heart.
With an intimate awareness of the hurdles I myself had to surmount in my own journey, I wanted to serve as an instrument in helping others overcome their own blocks that stand in the way of manifesting their dreams and innate potential.
With this inner motivation, I studied at and graduated from the University of Santa Monica with a Master's in Counseling Psychology with an emphasis in Spiritual Psychology. I'm a Holistic Psychotherapist integrating traditional and alternative psychotherapy modalities. In my work, I draw upon several modalities including Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Experiential, Existential, Spiritual, and Non-Hypnotic Regression to best serve my clients. A daily practice of yoga meditation for the past 20 years has been the cornerstone of my personal life. To gain a deep understanding of human nature and the process of healing; to seek wisdom and truth has been a life long passion.
I invite you to learn about my approach to get an idea of my therapeutic methodology and the issues I help with. I look forward to the opportunity to work with you.
